Required Vaccines: Rabies, Distemper, Bordatella, Heartworm Test and a negative fecal. Fecals are due every 6 months.  We highly recommend the parainflueza and H3N3/H3N8 flu vaccine and a 7 day waiting period after a first time bordatella vaccine. Please note, we try to send out vaccine reminders as a courtesy, but it is your responsibility to keep your pet’s vaccine information updated and faxed over by your veterinarian after relevant vet visits. We do not send out vaccine reminders.

Emergency Policy: In the event of an emergency, we will notify the emergency contact person designated on your enrollment form. Please understand, we have no way to transport your pet to a veterinarian, so it’s very important your emergency contact person is available and willing to care for or transport your pet to the vet, including the nearest 24 hour emergency care facility.

Illness Policy: We cannot accept any dogs with the following; fleas, parasites, vomiting, diarrhea, eye or nose discharge unrelated to allergies, contagious skin condition or cough. If your dog shows any signs of these conditions while in our care, we will separate your pet to a special quarantine area and contact your veterinarian for instructions. You will be responsible for any fees related to treatment.

Health & Wellness: This is where Dogs Bay really stands out from our competition! We have several protocols in place to ensure your fur friend is happy and healthy while boarding with us. These include a diarrhea protocol if your dog gets a loose stool, laundry and "spot" baths if your dog has an accident, chicken/rice to entice a dog who is not eating, wellness checks for dogs who become sick or injured, extra potty breaks for dogs who are having accidents, Calming treats for dogs who are fearful or over excited causing stress, a homeopathic cough suppressant for suspected kennel cough, etc. We may also add some ball time for a high energy dog who is struggling or extra Cuddles N Hugs for a sensitive dog who needs extra attention. We will do whatever we need to for the health and wellness of your fur baby while entrusted in our care. You will be responsible for any fees associated with these extra services. We will do our best to keep the cost down, but the health and safety of the fur kids is our number one priority.

Dog Bite Policy: We do everything we can to ensure a happy and safe environment, however dogs are animals and can be unpredictable, even in the safest environment. In the event your dog is bitten, you hold harmless all parties, including Dogs Bay staff. If your dog bites a human, you will be liable under the laws in the State of Michigan.
